Atlanta-based AssuranceAmerica Corporation announced the appointment of John E. Cay, III to fill a vacancy on the company’s Board of Directors. Cay is the chairman and CEO of Palmer & Cay Inc., a risk management and employee benefits consulting firm.
“We are extremely pleased that Mr. Cay has agreed to serve on our Board,” said Guy W. Millner, AssuranceAmerica chairman. “His knowledge and experience in the insurance industry will be a vital asset to our organization.”
AssuranceAmerica focuses on the non-standard automobile insurance marketplace, primarily in Florida and Georgia. Its principal operating subsidiaries are AssetAmerica Insurance Agencies (acquired in 1998), which sells personal automobile insurance policies through its 26 retail agencies, AssuranceAmerica Managing General Agency, and AssuranceAmerica Insurance Company.
Established in 2000, AssuranceAmerica Managing General Agency develops and markets insurance products, underwrites insurance risks, adjusts insurance claims and binds new policies.
AssuranceAmerica Insurance Company, which was formed in the fourth quarter of 2002, began writing direct business in the state of Georgia on April 1, 2003.
