Kimberly Ficklin, a sales and service coordinator with the insurance agency HRH of South Florida in Miami, has won the Kay Cooper Memorial Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Scholarship Award.
The scholarship award, offered by Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) of Florida to a member of the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW) in Florida, enables the recipient to attend all five CIC institutes with no registration fee (an $1825 value). The award is named for Kay Cooper, one of Florida’s foremost women insurance professionals who succumbed to cancer in 1986 after a long and brave battle.
Ficklin received high marks in all aspects of the award rankings, including awards, work experience, professional activities and volunteerism. She is an active member of NAIW, serving as the state director and is currently working on her Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) designation.
Ficklin received her award at the NAIW state meeting last month in Orlando from Ron Silverman, chair of PIA’s education committee. In presenting the award, Silverman stated, “Kim has shown such determination in meeting her clients’ needs and we are happy to recognize her hard work with this valuable scholarship.”
