Atlanta-based Ebix Inc., an international supplier of software and e-commerce solutions to the insurance industry, announced a number of awards for leadership in the insurance industry at a gala ceremony organized in Atlanta last week as a part of its Annual User Conference.
The awards declared during the musical and entertainment show WAVES’04, hosted by international celebrity actors and supermodels, was the first effort by an industry major to recognize leadership in various technology areas in the industry. The following awards were presented at the function:
Carrier Awards
Progressive Insurance Company for Leadership in the area of real time technology implementation;
Safeco Insurance Company for Leadership in the area of XML implementations;
International Standards Award
Acord for leading the process of standardization in the international markets outside USA;
International Broker Awards
AON for leadership in the international markets in implementing cutting edge technologies;
HSBC for leadership in international markets in implementing cutting edge technologies especially in implementing banc assurance;
US Broker Awards
Flatron Insurance brokerage group for excellence in implementing BPO work;
Clarion Insurance brokerage group for excellence in implementing convergence technologies
Ebix Users Leadership Awards
These awards were presented for extraordinary leadership within the Ebix family of users, in terms of representing the user interests as also helping Ebix in enhancing its products to suit the customer needs more effectively. The awards went to the following agency principals in this area:

Dave Schuppler
A number of employee awards were also declared covering the international employee base of Ebix, to recognize outstanding work in different functional and geographical areas covered by the company.
