Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher recently announced the appointment of Jon Ackerson of Louisville to the Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance Authority Board of Directors.
Ackerson is currently an attorney with Ackerson & Ackerson in Louisville. Ackerson has worked for more than 30 years as a practicing attorney in Kentucky. He served for 21 years in the Kentucky State Senate and the Kentucky State House of Representatives. Ackerson is the former chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Louisville Bar Association and previously served on the Louisville Bar Association Ethics Committee.
The Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) was the centerpiece of significant workers’ compensation reform legislation in the mid 1990′s. KEMI is a self-supporting, provider of workers’ comp insurance for numerous Kentucky businesses.
