The board of directors of Brown & Brown Inc. of Daytona Beach and Tampa, Fla. announced today that Thomas E. Riley has been elected regional president, responsible for operations in the Northeastern U.S., as well as certain South Florida offices. Robert F. Iocco was elected regional executive vice president to assume responsibility for certain operations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
“These actions are in line with our goal of continuing to maintain the best possible management structure as we grow our organization,” J. Hyatt Brown, chairman and CEO said.
Jim W. Henderson, president and COO commented, “Tom is a long-time friend and colleague. He has been a major contributor to building the success of Brown & Brown through creating outstanding earnings growth for our shareholders as well as the recruitment and nurturing of future leaders.”
Riley joined Brown & Brown in 1990 as CFO. He has been promoted through several positions and in 2001 was elected regional executive vice president. As regional president, Riley will continue to be responsible for regional operations but will expand his role to further grow the company’s overall operations.
Iocco joined Brown & Brown in 1992, after three years as an independent auditor with Ernst & Young LLP. He served in several capacities prior to 1997, when he was promoted to profit center manager for the company’s national Physicians Protector Plan® insurance program. In 2000, Iocco became the divisional executive vice president responsible for the Bethlehem, Penna. office, which has grown into one of the company’s largest operations.
