Florida Attorney General Charlie Crist, released the following statement after the announcement of an $850 million settlement between Marsh & McLennan and the New York State Attorney General and the Superintendent of the New York State Insurance Department that resolves the actions that were commenced against MMC and Marsh Inc.
“The State of Florida has had an investigation in progress with the Attorney General of New York. The settlement announced today appears to be a good step for Florida and the customers of Marsh & McLennan. This action will serve as part of a broader framework for resolving this matter on behalf of Floridians affected. Our investigation will continue until that goal is achieved.”
Marsh & McLennan Companies with annual revenue exceeding $11 billion, is the parent company of Marsh Inc., which has an office in Tampa engaged in employee benefits consultation.
