Industry Results Show Positive Signs for Workers’ Comp Line, NCCI’s Chief Economist Says

There’s a real simple solution to this. It’s called competition. The market knows how to price better than you ever will.
File the loss costs and let the carriers use the necessary LCM’s and Individual risk characteristic pricing tools.
That’s a stupid idea. You will have people buying coverage from the cheapest carriers who will go broke, than you and I will be subsidizing them by the paying higher premiums to our carriers to take care of the assesments. I’d agree with you if there was no FIGA, but there is.
Does anyone think this is anything other than a weasel political move to garner votes for Governor, he clearly can’t possibly think the Florida work comp market has rebounded so well that they can take a 22% cut. What is his plan as Governor when all the W/C carriers fail, OH he will do the same thing he did with the homeowners markets, refuse to allow rate adjustments and force more businesses to take coverage with the State run fund for W/C at astronomical rates. MR Gallagher please leave, I think Louisiana will be looking for someone to revamp their insurance industry real soon, lets see if you can help them out as much as you helped Florida over the last few years.
if the W/C markets are so good, can you tell me where to go with general contractors, or employers with less than 2 people?
