Susan Alford has been named executive vice president and southeast region head for Aon Consulting in Atlanta. The promotion is effective Jan. 1. Alford will be responsible for Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Florida.
In the 28 years that Alford has worked with Aon Consulting, she has served in a number of key positions, including most recently, as the head of the firm’s Atlanta office and national defined contribution practice leader. Alford’s expertise includes working with plan sponsors in the design, implementation and administration of defined contribution plans including 401(k) and ESOPs. She has also been responsible for the development and marketing of Aon’s integrated retirement services, working with alliance partners.
In her new role, Alford will be responsible for account management and business development throughout the region. Key aspects of this responsibility include working with southeast region clients and prospective clients, and facilitating the ongoing development of distinctive, value-added services that meet their needs. She will also have responsibility for talent management in the region.
