N.C. Young Agents Name Top Agent; Broker, Company

The Young Agents Committee of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina has named Kenneth L. Richardson, vice president of Senn Dunn in Greensboro, N.C., as its “Young Agent of the Year.” At the same time the Young Agents honored the “Broker of the Year,” and “Company of the Year.”

Richardson was recognized as the North Carolina agent who has demonstrated commitment and performance for his/her agency, association, industry, community and family. He has been extremely active in the state association and at present serves as the Young Agents Committee vice chair.

Richardson attended numerous young agents’ conferences, National Legislative Conferences and the young agent’s sales boot camp. He devotes much of his time to improving the insurance industry in North Carolina.

“When I joined the Young Agents, I never dreamed the relationships I would make,” Richardson said. “To work with this group of hardworking, dedicated and passionate people has been a joy in my life. The memories I will never forget.”

Johnson & Johnson Inc., Managers was named Broker of the Year. The Broker of the Year award is presented to the broker that has demonstrated support for association activities and commitment to the independent agency system. Representing Johnson & Johnson, Inc., Managers, CMGA at the conference were: Dascheil Propes, Jim Bost, Kay Gilreath, Matt Johnson, Rex Short, Amy Weiderhaft and Josh Booth.

Brokers were judged on market availability, competitiveness in pricing, underwriting personnel, product delivery, claim settlement, marketing, product development, accounting contracts, agency contracts and overall agency/broker relations.

GMAC Insurance was named “Company of the Year.” The Company of the Year award is presented to the company that has demonstrated support for association activities and commitment to the independent agency system. This is the second consecutive year GMAC has been awarded this prestigious award. Representing GMAC Insurance at the conference were: Bryan Howard, Rob Owen, Lyn Milner and Rick Williams.

The awards were presented during IIANC’s Annual Young Agents Conference held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
