Citizens Property Insurance Corp. will co-host an educational forum with Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey, and Rep. John Legg, R-Port Richey, to discuss a change in sinkhole coverage that affects residents in Florida’s Pasco and Hernando counties.
Citizens policyholders in both counties will automatically be provided coverage for catastrophic ground cover collapse, but will have to select optional sinkhole coverage.
The meeting to be held on June 26th from 4 p.m.-7p.m. in New Port Richey, Fla., will focus on upcoming changes to sinkhole coverage, and other legislative changes will be discussed.
“At the public meeting this option and other related insurance issues will be discussed. I encourage everyone who has coverage through Citizens to come to the meeting and ask any questions they have so that they are assured of the best coverage for their needs.” Fasano said.
Citizens staff members will give a brief review of the policy changes and will also be available to help individual policyholders who have questions about their coverage, said Citizens’ President Scott Wallace.
