Three Insurance Companies Placed in Liquidation in Illinois

As much misery as it would have caused millions of people I would have enjoyed watching Crist handle the aftermath if Ike would have hit South Florida as a Cat 4 or 5. If the wind blows he is going to go down as the worst governor in History.
Since Citizens has lowered their rates for condos again (9/1/08) I have now personally moved almost $200 million in exposure that was in the private market into Citizens.
F*cking idiot
Given the minimal surplus Citizens has, shouldn’t any savings be put aside in order to minimize the assessments that will ultimately be levied against the Citizens policy holders and the rest of us in the state?
My hats off to Sens. Alexander and Gaetz for monitoring Citizens. This is no time for Citizens to be spending MORE money! It’s bad enough that Citizens is now the largest insurer in Florida, they do not need to buy or move to a new building.
Any surpluses that the company accumulates should be added to the company’s less than stellar reserves!!!
Finally someone is paying attention- Good job. Any extra money should be set aside to prevent future assessments. In a time when many agents are struggling is nice to know that Citizens employees won’t be in enjoying extra luxuries.
I agree with all these posts, and would like to add how does adding space coincide with the long term plan of making Citizens an insurer of last resort and with trying to shrink their book of business.
Citizens says they want to shrink their business in the public. Did it ever occur to anyone that this is a jobs program?
They just moved into a new office several months ago! Now they are looking for a bigger facility??? Horrible planning for a company that should be getting smaller. How much does it cost us to move a company of that size?
