Unfortunately, I’m still a smoker, but also smart enough to know that a non-filtered cigarette does more damage than a filtered and smart enough too, to know that I risk lung cancer if I smoke at all. Really – why should any cigarette company pay for this woman’s stupidity? She makes all smokers look like idiots!!!
Hmm, I can smoke a cigarette with a filter and kill myself slowly, or smoke an unfiltered cigarette and give myself insta-cancer.
Dumb broad.
Smokers suing tobacco companies are idiots.
Beverly Davis’ lawyer, John Venable…
He told the justices there are no safe cigarettes but there are safer ones. His client, though, did not offer an alternative design at trial, suggesting instead that Liggett could have switched to cigars, which ordinarily are not inhaled.
…and his client could not have switched to cigars and not inhaled because?
There is absolutely no personal accountability at all anymore…Sure it’s hard to quit smoking, but it’s a choice to do it or not…
If you’re already aware that you’re playing Russian Roulette, whose fault is it that the bullets in the gun are stronger than you originally thought???
“I knew that smoking was bad for me, but I didn’t know it was THAT bad for me!”
Give me a freakin’ break!
I started smoking a long time ago when the Malboro cowboy was peddling cigarettes to young men as part of his macho image. I’m lucky, I only lost part of my lung. At the time, no one knew that cancer would be the result of gaining that macho image. It’s been 30 years since I lit up. So now I have to prove that I should have smoked Carltons?
I’m an ex-smoker myself, and anyone that sucks smoke off a burning stick and then inhales said smoke into their lungs and thinks it’s not going to do any harm, is an idiot.
That goes the same before and after the manditory warning on the package.
It’s right up there with the “HOT” warning on the cup of coffee because that dumb McBroad decided to park the cup between her old thighs while trying to get the lid off to add cream and sugar.
Here’s a thought; maybe the car is not the best place to dine.
Or better yet; perhaps your hoo-haa region is not the best place to stash recently boiled liquid.
Whoda thunk it.
In my humble opinion; blaming the Marlboro Cowboy’s “coolness” for contracting lung cancer is no smarter than blaming a red-haired clown for coffee burns to your butt hole.
It called personal accountability and being responsible for your actions.
Unfortunately; it’s a rarity now-a-days.
Survivor: If at any point in your lifetime you truly beleived that cigarettes were benign, then I’m shocked you’ve lasted as long as you have. Be honest with yourself and others and have some personal accountability.
