Tony Laska has joined workers’ compensation insurer BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co. as its senior vice president and chief information officer.
Laska comes to West Virginia from the Chicago area, where he had been assistant vice president for Allstate Insurance Co. Laska joined Allstate in 2002. He previously spent 15 years in key management positions with Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. after beginning his career with Babcock & Wilcox in Lynchburg, Va. At Allstate, Laska led several application development teams responsible for policy processing within the property and casualty business. He was involved in the creation of Progressive’s quoting system.
BrickStreet hopes to become fully licensed to write workers’ compensation coverage in Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Virginia by the end of the year.
