Florida Plans Hearing on Citizens’ Rate Increases

Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation will hold a hearing on proposed rate increases for several lines of insurance from Citizens Property Insurance Corp. at 1 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2010, in Tallahassee.

The lines of insurance to be discussed include, but are not limited to, homeowners, mobile homeowners, High-Risk Account homeowners, and the High-Risk Account, mobile homeowners programs.

The proposed, statewide average, rate increases vary from 6 percent to 11 percent, depending on the line.

The hearing will be held in the Senator Jim King Committee Room, 401 Senate Office Building, Tallahassee.
