Hopefully Florida’s ex governor Charlie Crist is not advising the Governor of Alabama. We politicized insurance to the point that the insurance industry was probably hated more than attorneys here in Florida. All in an effort to obtain easy votes.

I hope that the Governor of Alabama will really seek a solution that is done behind doors with experts in the insurance industry and free market capitalist. Let the carriers charge what ever they want and eventually the profit will bring competition which will be a downward preasure on rates. Just look at commercial lines which are less regulated and politicized as personal lines.

Good luck Alabama, I hope you are more succesful finding a real solution than we have here in Florida.

Here is a novel idea, set rates based on the associated risks.

Too simple for a politician to “get”.

Let the Free Market take care of it. What’s that? You don’t want to pay what the Free Market has to charge? Now you want the govmint to get involved and subsidize it. Sorry, can’t afford it. Adds to the Deficit.
