Veteran Agents Form Atlanta Brokerage Targeting Real Estate, Construction

Two veteran insurance agents have joined forces to create a new Atlanta-based brokerage operation focused on insurance, benefits and surety products for the construction and real estate industries.

Parker Hix and Martin H. Jones have named their new firm PentaRisk Associates. The firm currently operates in Georgia, with plans to expand to California, Florida and Texas.

Hix is the chairman and CEO of the new company, while Jones has taken on the role of president.

Parker and Hix have provided these services for years to industries including electrical and mechanical contractors, street and road pavers, general contractors, bridge builders, masonry contractors, roofing contractors, concrete contractors, ready mix operations, and commercial property managers and developers.

Hix began his insurance career at Alexander & Alexander, which was later acquired by Aon Risk Services. He was vice president of the Construction Division. In 1997, he founded the Georgia office of Allied North America where he served as president for over a decade, leading a team with a strong focus on the construction industry.

Jones got his start as a national accounts underwriter for The Travelers Insurance Co. In 1995, he became an agent and later a partner with Johnson & Bryan. In 1999, Jones helped found the Atlanta branch of the Insurance Office of America, where he was a partner and served as a director on the board. His focus and specialty is the real estate industry, particularly property management for office, retail and habitational risks including associated classes of business.
