The basic concept of removing or lowering coverages as a deterant to policies being placed with Citizens Insurance is might have sounded like a good idea, however it REALLY punishes those people who are written with Citizens because there is no other market like the Keys or older homes in Dade/Broward/Palm Bch counties… Citizens was originally intended as a market of last resort and as an independant agent who has other markets Citizens is always our last resort. They need to stop other “neighborly” agents from putting everything with Citizens. A lot of those homes could be placed in the standard market – so I TOTALLY agree the public needs to be more aware of the options out there. Raising the rates alone doesn’t solve the problem. There will always be some homes that don’t fit the standard market and will have to rely on the state program for insurance.

Why can’t we just go back how it was at the beginning . Take out meant keep out.
