I love it – “…many are used in illegal activities”!? You’re not kidding? You made that up –

Just tax’em. That’s what it’s all about, another relatively small source of income from a group of people who obviously don’t have the resources or connections to fight it. So go ahead, take another little piece of their hearts –

in North Carolina we’re lucky when they’re doing things like this – it keeps’em busy and keeps them from doing far worse, hateful things like they’be been doing (whatever Art Pope wants…).

In our community we are the only ones renting-to-own and servicing scooters. This law will require us to cease as the cost to abide with the NCDMV is over $48,000/year for us. People rent-to-own 49cc scooters because they cannot afford to pay cash and their credit is not worthy. I expect unemployment to go up due to this law substantially for our customers as well as our business.

I look it at a safety issue. More and more people a getting Mopeds and starting to clog the roadways. A safety class should also be mandated for there safety. I think that Mopeds should not be alowed on road way with a speed limit 50 or over. I seen many of them on the road that do not have singles on the bike and do not use hand singles to let those behind them know what they are doing so you pass them and they turn in front of you. It will not cost them nearly the amount to have a vehicle that other do.If any one thinks that there life is not worth $15 need to ride the bus!

Politicians that see another source of revenue for the state, that’s all.

It’s all about another revenue source for the State! Believe me, the people on bicycles and mopeds are the ones getting hit and ran over by reckless and irresponsible driver’s that don’t give a crap! Since I have been in this State, I have seen plenty of that! Case taken, when ice and driving conditions tell yo to not get on the roads, people do anyway and many wreck and injure people. That is a decision for most, but there is no law or extra fines for that! Get a life people in this State!
