Guns don’t need to be in the hands of thug criminals, anarchists or terrorists. A properly trained, licensed student is not going to cause problems, but may just stop a massacre before many lives are lost.
Why do I carry a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield because a cop was to heavy. Bottom line folks is that the bad guy’s do not obey the rules, if they did then there would not be a desire on the part of many Americans to carry a gun.
Add that to the fact that according to the Supremes’, law enforcement owes no duty to protect the public and you get to where we are. Law Enforcement does a great job with what resources they have, unfortunately the courts have ruled to protect the rights of the mentally ill so they roam the streets among us and goodness forbid that we keep folks from terrorist based countries out. I am quite simply concerned about my and my families safety.
“Gun Free Zones” only keep good citizens from being able to protect themselves they do nothing to stop the criminals from moving forward as they see fit.
Well if the SWAT team does their job only the bad guy. That unfortunately would include a private citizen who is armed if they are not properly trained and point their weapon at the SWAT team or anyone else. As a trained concealed weapons holder unless you are at that moment engaged with the assailant you should have your weapon at low ready and when instructed to drop said weapon by LEO you should obey the command.
Please, use some common sense. Guns do Not need to be on 21 year olds in a college classsroom….male or female .

@C. Starnes; I’m confused. You said use some common sense, but the advice you offered didn’t do so.
So if the person were 25 yrs old, would that solve the problem ? At 17 yrs we’ll train them and allow them to carry a weapon all over the place.
Scenario: There’s a “shooter on campus alert.” Licensed carriers pull out their weapons. The SWAT team arrives. Who gets shot?
yes :)
SWAT team won’t be needed.

Folks it is about taking responsibility.
@Sim Namore:
The bad guy gets shot by the licensed carrier.
The cops arrive and shake his/ her hand and fill out a report after calling for the meat wagon.
But make no mistake; polar bears never get shot by the SWAT team.
I raise my paws and FULLY COOPERATE with the authorities.
