Funny, I’ve been living on the Indian river in Melbourne since 1983. I have a dock with a mark on it for the low tide and high tide water levels. They are still the same as they were in 1983

(in best tourguide voice) now if you look over here to your right, you’ll see the classic “if it’s not happening to me, it’s not happening anywhere else” argument being tossed about.

So sea levels can rise faster in some parts of FL faster than others?

I think you should try to fill up your swimming pool on one side faster than the other to prove your point. Let me know how that works for ya.

My apologies for the 1% white privilege reference to swimming pool. I should have said “fill up your tub”.

of course sea levels can rise in one part of the state faster than another. sea level rise is not homogeneous!

If my swimming pool was not built completely flat (so it inclined or declined, or tilted to one side or the other), it will fill up one part of the pool faster than another.

Do you think FL is completely flat and every part that is bordered by the ocean is at exactly the same ‘above or below’ sea level height?

You get the ‘Dumbest Comment of the Day’ award. Try adding water to your glass and see if it rises on one side more than the other. Dummy.

My apologies Jax – I was unaware the entire coast of Florida was located at the same elevation.

So, I tried your test and the answer is – yes – it totally filled up one side of the glass faster than the other!!!

I tested it on a hill with a 3 degree incline. I would expect a different result if the entire entire cup sat at the same elevation.

I think the small rise is due to there being more boats in the water, which displaces some of the water thereby raising the water levels. Submarines displace even more water.

Funny, at the cabin I used to have the water receded so much my floating portion of my dock had to be detached because it became so much lower than the rest of the dock, and then my entire dock was not even in the water anymore and I had to extend it.

Al Gore, Master Climate Hoaxer and failed POTUS candidate, has not yet sold his nearly-beach-front villa. Poor Al; he’s gonna lose his vacation home very soon… or he already should have lost it?

Al Gore won the election, conservatives stole it by having the Supreme Court appoint the president. You and your kind don’t support or believe in America, you believe in your political party. Clinton should have stopped the coup. You don’t believe in democracy or the will of the people, only autocratic, far right wing rule, which is why you support liars, and personally lie so often.

Interesting. Read an article yesterday based on NASA Charts that stated: “NASA satellite sea level observations for the past 24 years show that – on average – sea levels have been rising 3.4 millimeters per year. That’s 0.134 inches, about the thickness of a dime and a nickel stacked together, per year.”

Additionally, the NASA chart showed that sea levels went down in 2016.

The article you read was based on this graph:

      https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/sea-level/

The chart does not show that sea levels went down but rather that the rate of change dipped down briefly. Also, the information on this graph conflicts with the information in the article because the article specifically states a method and region of measurement which is can be very different due to asymmetrical changes in water level. See the following link for an illustrative example.

How do you make the water on one side of a bowl rise faster than on the other side? Tilt the bowl is the only option. Maybe Florida is really sinking?

Come back later and I’ll make you even more money. :)

The land is retracting due to all the ice (weight) melting from the last ice age, 10,000 years ago +/-.

So the land in Florida is retracting due to all that ice that has been down there for the past 10,000 years?

Learn to swim and live, chose not to and you die.
PS gov’t won’t swim for you. You have to do it for yourself if you want to live in a water world.

I love how you post links solely based on the clickbait title thinking it proves things you’ve already said, but don’t actually bother to read the article to realize it doesn’t actually support your past arguments.

Climate Scientists believe that about half of the warming we are seeing is just natural variation, with the other half caused by man.

The Paris Climate Accords, if followed by all countries including the United States, would reduce CO2 production by about 10% over the next 30 years. That means 90% will continue.

If half of warming is natural anyway, then Paris would reduce the impact of warming by 5%. (The reason the hysteria about Trump pulling out has gone away.)

Question to those concerned about Climate Change: Have you given up air conditioning yet? The NY Times reported that this is perhaps the greatest contributor to CO2 production. My guess: all the big talking Climate Change zealots have done nothing in their own lives to help avoid the pending doom, revealing that nearly all of us are “deniers”.

You assume a 1:1 ratio between co2 and climate change. No scientists agree with this. You are pushing bs, pretending to be informed.

Actually, I am pushing nothing. You do the math and show me the impact of the Paris Climate Accord on reducing future CO2 production. But use the estimates of real scientists. You will come up with the same numbers above. Then tell me what the impact will be on reducing Climate Change. (And when you gave up driving and air conditioning. If this is so serious, how do you actually walk the walk?)
