Dan Dunmoyer, president of the Personal Insurance Federation of California (PIFC), announced that Daniel E. Kinney, California vice president-public policy for State Farm Insurance Companies, was elected Chairman of the Board of PIFC.
Kinney accepted the chairman’s gavel from Mark Niehaus, California general manager for Progressive Insurance Group, who has served as PIFC’s Board Chairman since February 2000.
Kinney joined State Farm as an attorney in 1986 and has worked in the Corporate Law Department throughout his career with the company. He was transferred from State Farm’s Corporate headquarters in Illinois to California January 1991, to help establish a new State Farm Corporate Law office in Sacramento. He managed the office which is responsible for handling legislative and regulatory matters affecting State Farm in eight western states.
Other officers elected to the PIFC Board are Ron Coble, vice president and California state executive director, Farmers Insurance Group as vice Chairman; James Ruddy, senior vice president & general counsel, SAFECO, as secretary; Michael Cassenego, vice president and general counsel, 21st Century Insurance Group, as treasurer; and Mark Niehaus, California general manager, Progressive Insurance Group, as member-at-large.
Dan Dunmoyer was re-elected to the position of president and Diane Colborn continues to serve as vice president.
