American Casualty Company of Reading, Pa., a subsidiary of CNA Insurance Group, recently filed a request for rate increase in Nevada.
The increase, if granted, would be placed in effect on policies in the Medical Professional Liability program, upon approval. The measure of market impact is 79 nurse practitioners. The statewide average change proposed is an increase of 4.2 percent.
The requested effective date for new and renewal policies is Dec. 1, 2002.
The most recent previously approved rate change was an increase of 12.6 percent, which was never implemented for new or renewal policies.
The prior change was approved June 3, 2002. The company postponed implementation of the prior filing and plans to implement the prior and current filings concurrently.
The above proposed rate change is subject to review by the Insurance Division. It has the status of “filed rate request” until the Division deems it a “complete filing.” The Division will mail a Notice of Hearing to interested persons if and when a Hearing is scheduled.
