The Sacramento Bee recently revealed its endorsement for Republican nominee Gary Mendoza for California Insurance Commissioner. While the paper acknowledged the competence of both Mendoza and Democratic nominee John Garamendi, the Bee stated “Mendoza is just the ticket for a Republican party sorely needing viable candidates and a state sorely needing a viable Republican party.”
The paper also cited Mendoza’s past experience as Commissioner of Corporations, saying that “he has shown that he will protect consumers, but he also has the ability to work effectively and creatively with an industry vital to the state’s economic health.”
