California-based Computer Sciences Corporation announced that its property and casualty (P/C) insurance business process outsourcing (BPO) operation in the Americas has passed a major milestone and is now processing more than $1 billion of annual premiums for clients.
CSC provides BPO services to 43 U.S. P/C insurers, including six virtual insurance companies, and supports 12 lines of P/C insurance. In addition to back-office services, clients also use CSC’s iSolutions software to give their agents the ability to rate, quote and bind insurance coverage over the Internet.
“Business process outsourcing gives insurance companies access to an established infrastructure, supported by the latest technology and the industry’s best practices,” said Ray August, president of the Property and Casualty Insurance Division of CSC’s Financial Services Group in the Americas. “With this $1 billion premium milestone, we have achieved economies of scale that enable us to continue to drive down costs and streamline processes for our P/C BPO clients.”
CSC provides outsourcing services to 175 life and P/C insurers worldwide, both large and small, processing nearly $7 billion in insurance premiums through BPO agreements.
CSC has provided policy administration, billing, customer service, claims notification, compliance support, print and imaging services to property and casualty companies since 1987.
