Roger Chaix, president of Irvine, Calif.-based R.E.Chaix & Associates recently hired Joe Weckerle, Jr. to replace recently retired, long-time employee Steve Wessell.
Weckerle will be covering the territory and servicing the agents previously assigned to Wessel. Weckerle has been working closely with Wessell introducing himself and providing clients a seamless transition these past few weeks.
As the son of Joe Weckerle, Sr., Joe Weckerle, Jr. is another example of someone who caught the “insurance gene” early on in his career. Prior to joining R.E.Chaix, Weckerle, Jr. was the Irvine branch manager and partner in his family’s operation, ARIS Insurance, from 1992 until 2003 when the agency was sold. After a few months of retirement, Weckerle decided to return to his insurance roots.
Prior to joining ARIS Insurance, Weckerle spent eight months in London at Lloyd’s and worked in reinsurance.
According to Chaix, “Joe is a real asset to our organization. His underwriting experience and product knowledge was a perfect fit for our needs. The feedback I’m getting from our carriers and clients is all positive. We’re looking to Joe to help us continue to expand and perhaps bring in additional lines of program business as the markets continue to evolve.”
