Keenan Appoints Bonner to New Advisory Board

Torrance, Calif.-based Keenan, one of the largest privately held brokerage firms in the state, announced the appointment of Dale E. Bonner, Esq. to its Advisory Board of thought leaders to bolster its strategy and provide insight into the public sector marketplace.

Bonner was formerly the Commissioner of the California Department of Corporations (1998-1999). As Commissioner, he regulated California’s managed care industry and served as one of the Governor’s chief policy advisors and spokesperson regarding managed care and business regulations. Prior to being appointed Commissioner, Bonner had oversight of the Department of Corporations as Deputy Secretary and General Counsel of the Business, Transportation and Housing Agency from 1996 to 1997. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Legal Affairs Secretary to the Governor.

Bonner’s career spans more than 13 years of dedication to the state of California. Bonner was designated the Schwarzenegger Transition Team’s point person on matters relating to Business, Transportation and Housing Agency, which includes the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) and several other business regulatory departments. Bonner co-chairs an expert review panel assembled to review the operations of the DMHC and other departments within the Business, Transportation & Housing Agency. He also serves on the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission and previously served on the State’s Bipartisan Commission on Political Reform.

He is a partner at the Los Angeles office of Epstein Becker & Green, a general practice law firm with more than 350 lawyers in the United States, in addition to affiliations worldwide. His practice area is regulatory compliance and transactional matters on behalf of managed care payors and providers. He is a member of its National Health Law Practice and Government Contracts and Technology Group.
