Frederick J. Fisher, president and CEO of Los Angeles-based E.L.M. Insurance Brokers Inc., specialists in professional liability coverages, announced that Gregg Higgins has recently joined E.L.M. as director of field marketing.
According to Fisher, “Gregg’s responsibilities will include calling on retail agents and brokers – developing new and enhancing existing relationships. He is one of the most respected, seasoned professionals in the specialty lines industry and I’m pleased to add him to our team.”
Higgins specialty lines expertise will be available to E.L.M. agents and brokers in California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas and Oregon.
After retiring from the Navy in 1993, Higgins began his specialty lines career in the Boston, Mass., of American International Group Company – National Union starting as a temporary underwriting assistant. After numerous promotions based on excellent performance, he was transferred to Arizona and appointed branch manager of specialty lines insurance division, a position he left until he left in January of 2000. Prior to joining E.L.M. Insurance Brokers, Gregg was with The Philadelphia Insurance Co’s. While there, he was underwriting manager, specialty lines division, responsible for marketing, soliciting and underwriting accounts as well as managing the efforts of four other underwriters and three assistants.
A well-known speaker with an emphasis on D&O, Higgins has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. speaking about specialty lines to groups of brokers and professional organizations.
