Los Angeles-based The Cooperative of American Physicians, Inc.-Mutual Protection Trust (CAP-MPT), a provider of medical professional liability protection, has appointed John A. Donaldson chief financial officer.
Donaldson, a 25-year veteran of the property-casualty insurance industry, is an expert in the areas of reinsurance, medical malpractice and rating agencies. He comes to CAP-MPT from Employers Insurance Company of Nevada (EICN), where he was executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Prior to EICN, Donaldson was with Fremont General Corporation for 20 years, serving in a number of positions within the finance area, including five years as chief financial officer of Fremont Indemnity Company, which was Fremont’s medical malpractice operation.
