Safeco has appointed insurance veteran Myron Hendry as its new senior vice president of Service.
Hendry joins Safeco following 32 years at CNA where he moved through the organization with increasing levels of responsibility. Early in his career, he worked as a field service manager, establishing policy and procedures for all field accounting, policy and claims processing functions. In a more recent role, he was senior vice president of Worldwide Operations, which processed and serviced all of CNA’s property and casualty business.
“Myron’s depth of experience in service and operations will be a terrific asset as we work to elevate Safeco’s already strong service organization into a best-in-class industry leader,” said Christine Mead, Safeco CFO and newly named co-president – Service, Technology and Finance.
“Achieving a high standard of service is about spreading an attitude and a way of doing business that gives a company momentum,” said Hendry. “With the great service heritage that already exists here at Safeco, we’re well on our way to making service a key differentiator for our distributors and customers.”
Hendry replaces John Ammendola, who has been promoted to senior vice president-Safeco Personal Insurance Product and Underwriting, effective Nov. 3, 2004.
