Jill E. Paterson has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, reporting to CEO Charles Kavitsky. Paterson has also been nominated to serve as a member of the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company Board of Directors. Her responsibilities include the direction and performance of the Controller’s Office, Treasury Department, Financial Services, Supply Management and the company’s compliance under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
“We are very fortunate to have this 20-year veteran of insurance industry finance prepared to assume the critical role of CFO,” said Kavitsky. “Jill has the right balance of intellect, business savvy, discipline and leadership capabilities to ensure that Finance continues to add value to our Company’s rapidly advancing market strategy.”
Paterson previously served as senior vice president and controller. Prior to joining Fireman’s Fund, Paterson had served for 14 years at Allianz Canada, where she was promoted through the ranks in Finance, rising to the post of senior vice president and CFO. Paterson’s background includes in-depth management experience in accounting, audit, controls, taxation, financial/regulatory/board reporting, strategic planning, analysis and treasury. Her insurance industry experience began when serving at Deloitte Haskins & Sells in Toronto, ON.
