California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund’s Monterey Park Office will hold a free employer seminar on “Enhancing Safety Through Wellness” on Thursday, Dec. 1. The seminar will look into how the implementation of an effective employer wellness program can help increase employee productivity, improve employee attendance and help reduce workers’ compensation costs.
Featured speakers include orthopedic surgeon and work-related injury expert Dr. Ismael Silva; nutritional specialist Dr. Glenn Marshak; State Fund-certified ergonomics expert Ryan Horton and State Fund Senior Loss Control consultant Stefanie Nobriga.
The seminar includes a Safety and Health Fair, which will provide attendees with resources and information on how to promote “wellness” at the workplace. Attendees will also be able to get free body-fat testing, fitness counseling, body scan, cholesterol testing, chair massages and ergonomic consultations.
Attendees will learn:
- Where to find resources to implement a wellness program;
- The benefits of a wellness program;
- How to use practical ergonomic tools;
- How to prevent industrial and personal injury; and
- The latest nutritional information.
