The Drive Group of Insurance Companies, an auto insurer that operates through independent agents and brokers, has opened a new data center and document production facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. Over the next several months, the company will install the systems required to ensure uninterrupted service to the more than 30,000 independent insurance agencies that choose to represent Drive, as well as the millions of customers they serve.
The two-building, 175,000 square-foot project began in June 2005. More than 140 people are expected to be employed there; 39 are on-board today and more than 60 I/T openings are slated to be filled by year-end. The copmany also plans are to hire more than 40 additional people in 2007.
The data center will provide support for the company’s agency-dedicated Web site.
