Burns & Wilcox, a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based national specialty insurance wholesaler, underwriter and managing general agent, has added Megan Medrano as underwriter in the company’s Los Angeles office.
Medrano has expertise in sales and specializes in personal umbrella, homeowners insurance, personal article floaters and dwelling coverages. Previously, Medrano worked for 21st Century Insurance Group, where she earned awards for maintaining the top 10 percent in sales among her peers during her three years there.
Also, the company has appointed Daniel Slawson assistant branch manager in Scottsdale, Ariz., office
Slawson has been with Burns & Wilcox for over 10 years and as an assistant branch manager, is credited with producing and managing the largest book of business within the company’s Scottsdale branch, as well as organizing and structuring the branch for future growth. Slawson markets all of the company’s products, including professional liability, errors & omissions, artisan contractors, general contractors, restaurants & bars, vacant buildings and land, umbrella/excess coverages, apartment coverage, manufacturers, nonprofit and for-profit directors & officers, EPLI, jewelers block, large mono-line property and mono-line general liability, and packages.
