Liberty International Underwriters, a division of Liberty Mutual Group, now offers general liability products out of its Los Angeles office. Heading up the Los Angeles operation’s general liability office is Vice President C.J. Johnson, formerly with Ace.
“C.J. has been in the industry for 28 years and has focused on general liability for two decades,” said David Cohen, president of Liberty International Underwriter’s U.S. operations. “During that time, she has been a solid resource for Western brokers who can now look to her to help place non-admitted, difficult business like products liability, habitational occupancies and contractors.”
Johnson joins Bruce Griffin, vice president of excess casualty, and Paula Mannion, assistant vice president of excess casualty, who opened LIU’s L.A. office in May 2006 to serve Southern California, Nevada, Hawaii, New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. In addition to underwriting, the L.A. office houses LIU’s Southwest regional loss control representative, Steve Chiacscione, for both primary surplus and excess umbrella lines.
Expanding the lines available in L.A. is part of LIU’s overall strategy to offer its full line of first- and third-party capabilities out of all its regional U.S. offices.
