Seattle community leader Virginia Anderson has been named president of the Safeco Insurance Foundation.
Anderson, who has served as director of Seattle Center for the past 18 years, brings her background in public service, real estate and the arts to Safeco. At Seattle Center, Anderson ran Seattle’s major public assembly complex. Earlier in her career, Anderson spent 10 years at Cornerstone Development Co., a real estate and property management firm, eventually becoming senior vice president for several key divisions.
She has served on many corporate and civic boards including Standard Insurance Co., Washington Energy Co., U.S. Bank of Washington, United Way of King County and the University of Washington.
