Washington’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner has scheduled a May 29, 2007, hearing in Tumwater, Wash., to consider an Austrialian group’s request to purchase three Washington-based property and casualty insurance companies.
QBE Insurance Group Ltd., an Australian corporation, and its subsidiary, QBE Holdings Inc., of Delaware, have filed a request to purchase Unigard Insurance Co., Unigard Indemnity Co., and Unigard Pacific Insurance Co., all of Bellevue, Wash.
The three companies are wholly owned subsidiaries of Winterthur US Holdings. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of AXA, a French holding company.
The hearing to consider the request will be held at 10 a.m. in the agency’s Tumwater office at 5000 Capitol Blvd.
