Heffernan Insurance Brokers, a full-service insurance brokerage firms in the San Francisco Bay Area, has hired Jay Johnsen as assistant vice president in the San Francisco office. Johnsen specializes in marketing assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
As a producer at Heffernan, Johnsen will be charged with new business development with a focus on skilled nursing facilities as well as assisted living. Johnsen comes to Heffernan Insurance Brokers with a strong background as a property/casualty producer, beginning his insurance career in 1992. The past seven years, he has been primarily devoted to the assisted living community with a major focus on elderly facilities, nonprofit group homes and homes for the developmentally disabled.
Johnsen has been working in the insurance industry for more than 15 years. Prior to a career in the insurance industry, he was an x-ray technologist working in a cardiac catheterization suite at a large community hospital.
