USRisk Brokers Insurance Services Inc. announced that Joan Edwards has joined its Oakland, Calif., office as branch manager, and Chris Ramos has joined the office as senior underwriter.
USRisk Brokers is a California brokerage subsidiary of U.S. Risk Insurance Group, a managing general agency and surplus lines wholesaler in the nation.
Edwards has 30 years of brokerage, underwriting and marketing and sales experience in the insurance industry. Most recently, she was a senior underwriter in the MGA unit of Crouse & Associates, a San Francisco excess & surplus lines brokerage. Her experience also includes serving as vice president for Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs and in positions with AIG, Home Insurance Co. and CNA.
Ramos will be responsible for underwriting casualty and property risks throughout California. He comes to USRisk Brokers after serving as a broker/underwriter at MJ Hall & Co.’s Napa branch. A resident of Santa Rosa, Calif., Ramos has also served as an underwriter with Pacific Coast E&S Insurance Services and as an underwriting assistant with Apollo General Insurance Agency.
