Atlanta-based Beecher Carlson appointed Craig Nelson senior vice president, focusing on the development and management of accounts in the retail industry from the company’s Denver office. Nelson has 28 years of experience and specializes in large account risk management.
Most recently, Nelson served as executive vice president of business development for Denver-based Van Gilder Insurance Corp. He also served as president/equity partner for Denver-based Moreton & Co., where he developed and managed national clients. Prior to that, Nelson held executive positions with Lockton Companies and Aon Risk Services. At Lockton, Nelson served as senior vice president within the Risk Management Unit, where he consulted with clients on enterprise risk management including strategic risk financing, risk control and information management. Nelson was later promoted to senior vice president of the Commercial Insurance Department, where he was responsible for all property/casualty business units, including risk management, diversified/middle market, construction, real estate and financial services.
At Aon Risk Services, Nelson served as resident managing Ddrector in the San Francisco office, where he managed the commercial risk management consulting group.
