The California Department of Insurance has launched an official Twitter account, @CDInews.
“I am always looking for new ways to reach out to and engage more consumers, and I am glad that we can take advantage of an innovative tool like Twitter to share useful tips and alerts with Californians,” said Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner. “The Department of Insurance is the largest consumer protection agency in the state, and expanding the means of communication with the public is vital to maintaining our high standards of service to consumers.”
Updates from the CDI, including fraud arrests and tips for making sure consumers have adequate insurance will be distributed via the social media tool.
