Washington’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner has proposed rules to establish electronic licensing submission rules for insurance producers. The proposed mandatory online licensing rules have been proposed to provide clarity and consistency for electronic licensing resulting in a streamlined process, the OIC said.
The Insurance Commissioner has offered the option to apply on-line to obtain and renew certain producer licenses for several years. The process has improved the efficiency of the state insurance producer licensing process and made it more accessible for all parties involved as well as saving costs in the printing and mailing of licenses.
A hearing on the proposed rules will be held at the OIC office in Tumwater, Wash., on Jan. 5, 2011.
