Authorities have arrested two teens on felony third-degree arson charges as firefighters continue battling a wildfire burning about 3 square miles south of Gardnerville, Nev.
Douglas County Sheriff’s officials say two 15-year-old boys were taken into custody Wednesday after allegedly building a fort and a campfire in the Pine View Estates area near Ray May Way.
Officials say the boys didn’t fully extinguish the fire and it spread Tuesday afternoon when winds picked up.
Firefighters are using aircraft to fight the blaze.
Two firefighters are suffering non-life threatening injuries after officials say they were hit by water or fire retardant.
Voluntary evacuations continue in the Pine View subdivision. At least one abandoned outbuilding has burned.
