Feds Reimburse County in Utah for Flooding Damages

The federal government has reimbursed Cache County, Utah and municipalities more than $780,000 for flooding damages last spring.

The Herald Journal of Logan reported that President Barack Obama approved the request after declaring an emergency for the area.

A record-breaking snowpack last winter and heavy spring rainfall combined to cause more than $1 million in flooding damages in Cache County, according to the newspaper.

County Executive Lynn Lemon says most of the federal assistance will help reimburse local governments for road and bridge repairs. The county received $160,000 of the federal assistance, Logan got $390,000, Providence received $183,000 and Millville, $48,000.
