Teen driving laws can not be strict enough as far as I am concerned. Our family imposed driver license at 18 or older. However I was completely open to listening to any arguments presented by my kids to allow licensing earlier if they could back up their argument with statistics or documentation. It worked well for us. They had a lot more practice time and maturity when they did become licensed….and greatly appreciated the privilege of driving and did not consider it their right of passage at 16.
