I wonder if the usage of the internet has helped the underwriters retain the wildfire lessons learned. By having more ready access to information than what we had even 10 years ago, it may help to reinforce discipline needed in the soft market.
It is not true that California has had no major fires since 2007. There are multiple large fires in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, San Diego regions in 2008 and early 2009.
