Not a good thing for agents! Look at Florida. Rates down 60% and payrolls with the recession down another 40%. What does that mean to an agent? Income down about 70% on your Workers Comp book!

As i see it, the injured worker is put back in the mold of one size fits all. Whereas the carriers are still getting their million dollar bonuses. There should have ben a CAP clause on the amount that an executive can be paid, no one is worth their salery plus millions of dollars of bonuses. have this CAP in place nation wide and the costs of claims and premium and claims would rquate.

This is a broken system, Maximus Federal Services, Inc. for one is being sued in many places. I have never gotten one letter from them authorizing medical services. They due however have a disclaimer at the end of their letter. “Maximus is providing an independent review service under contract with the California Department of Industrial Relations. Maximus is not engaged in the practice of law or medicine. Decisions about the use or nonuse of health care services and treatments are the sole responsibility of the patient and the patient’s physician. Maximus is not liable for any consequences arising from these decisions. After that is said, my doctor has requested treatment for me. He has his hands tied, how do you help an injured worker if they can not practice medicine. Get the MRI’s that are needed etc… I say it is time to say good bye to Maximus, all they do is copy and paste their denials to everyone. This has been a nightmare!

It is time to put the injured worker back into the hands of a real doctor. When I got injured they missed my injury, they thought I was faking. Long story short, spine surgery and other surgeries as well. Maximus denies every IMR and at the end releases themselves of all liability. This is not working, Maximus is being sued in many places, they should not be trusted. Please fix this before someone dies.
