Yeah…this sounds about right. Fits in perfectly with the entitlement mentality. No reason to take responsibility for their own actions. I’m surprise that they didn’t blame Bush for their problems.

If he/she is overreacting to an article that gives you the opportunity to comment with your thoughts, what are you doing? I honestly thought the same thing. This country is becoming full of pathetic whiners who look to blame EVERYONE else for their problems.

I guess we should all stop posting our thoughts so we don’t upset dear Speedo.

The choice to post is up to you – your posts don’t upset me, so don’t stop on my account. It would be a pretty dull world if we all agreed on everything.

I personally don’t believe our country is full of pathetic whiners who look to blame everyone else for their problems. There are a few, and these five are in prison. I just don’t see any reason to lump these particular losers in with people like Judge Robert Bork, who a few years ago sued a university he was speaking at for a trip-and-fall injury.

I have to side with Speedo on part of his point here. This isn’t a country full of pathetic whiners who look to blame everyone else for their problems (although there are too many of those). Just think about all of our veterans who have lost limbs, sanity, and more, but they drive on. Also think about all of us who are dedicated to our jobs and our families. There are a lot of us who earn our own way in this world, and sometimes even help people we’ve never even met.

Don’t give up on this country just yet.

Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) – a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Well….They do sell a product that costs taxpayers considerable pain. As do cigarette makers. If the products were offered on the free market today they would not be allowed. I believe we should offer the manufacturers a date to stop producing the deadly products along with a pass for the past and a warning of “do not more harm” We live in a country of money or morality. Of course, I’ll get a 100 dislikes but that’s just my opinion..

OK, you keep saying addictive vs. non-addictive. So, what about caffeine? What about working out? Yes, people get addicted to working out. What about skin-picking, fingernail biting, or hair-pulling? What about smart phone use? Do we outlaw all of that, too? Prohibition has never worked. Looked at the failed War On Drugs. Illegalizing alcohol is not the answer. Unless, of course, you want even more crime.

It’s just par for the course, a significant number of people now take no responsibility for their actions. I’m constantly amazed by the number of people I come in contact with daily that anything that happens to them, especially the bad stuff, it’s not their fault, the blame always falls on someone else. Personal Responsibility people, that’s what is needed.

Perhaps we should sue automobile manufacturers because we can drive at ludicrous speeds and kill someone, Bathroom scale manufacturers because using them makes us depressed when we have gained weight, or not lost it quickly enough, and Sand and Gravel companies because we ran on the playground as children and fell and skinned our knees on the gravel. Makes as much sense! CHOICES!!! It’s all about CHOICES! Sadly, these “nuisance” law suits keeps the courts up to their eyeballs in a tyraid of paper logistics, and legitimate cases from being heard in a reasonable manner. The plaintiff’s “time” could be better spent being constructive as opposed to costing MORE money to the taxpayers. Pathetic!

Alcohol should be outlawed. Most deadly and addictive drug on the market.Kills more than all the other drugs combined.Personally I hope they win. Then there is more awareness of this death potion.Your addicted when you can’t have fun without it.Think about it party animals could you go to the party and drink water or other refreshments or does alcohol play a big part in your ability to have fun or be entertained?? Is it a right of passage in your familY?? How many have not known someone who has died as a result of their own or someone elses use of alcohol?? Please be aware and teach your children ways to be entertained that dont involve the use of alcohol.

Maybe the taxpayers should sue the attorneys for taking on such a frivolous law suit! Isn’t there some type of oath that these attorney’s take?? They should not be allowed to accept such cases…and the court should have the power to reject them once they are filed, and then get the attorney’s license revoked!!!

I am sorry to say, I am on the side of the prisoners.
Remember the Marlboro Man that was shown on television? Well he is no more, and why? Because the tobacco industry made BILLIONS by advertising and making people feel it was cool, look at the tobacco industry now! The tobacco industry has been sued time and time again, and they lost because they knew the health effects that smoking does and tried to conceal it! Smoking is addictive and so is alcohol. No more Marlboro man on TV right? Well I would have to agree with these fellow prisoners, look at AA alcohlics anonomous, AA is actually designated for prisoners to acheive by judjes nation wide and if you can bring down the tobacco companys deceptive practices why not the alcohol industry? You all watch and see, this is a great case!

Alcohol is not addictive to everyone! There are millions of individuals who can consume it in small, moderate or large amounts without becoming addicted to it. I believe that only those genetically predisposed to alcoholism become addicted.
