Just $48,000? Sounds like a case of gross negligence. This restaurant is getting off easy, especially since the manager admits to serving food with broken pieces of plate.

That’s what happens when a reasonable person wants to be compensated for his loss and not expect to win the lottery just because someone messed up.

OK, the guy broke some teeth. But $48K? I go to an out-of-network dentist, and he’d fix ’em for about $10K tops. A judge will give him some pain and suffering, and lost time compensation -all deserved, but I don’t see this going over $25K.

This is a small BI claim. Nobody died or got horribly ill. Get a grip.

Wonder where this would have gone if the manager had not admitted to pieces of plate falling into the potatoes. The article did state that no other customers had an issue with broken plate in their food. Glad he isn’t being greedy and asking for the moon. $48,000 seems reasonable considering all of the other outlandish liability payouts.

Well, I’m sure that by the time the lawyers get their share of the money, the Claiment will only wind up getting about half.
