The reported behaviour of the airlines and the flight crew is outrageous. They could have borrowed the necessary equipment from another airlines. The flight crew could have called airport medical personnel for assistance. There were many more options available than forcing the man to crawl. And offering frequent flyer miles by way of compensation is ludicrous. Delta needs to revamp their service and their flight crew training.

“the airline did offer a piece of cardboard to allow him to crawl across the tarmac without sullying his clothes. Kanaan found the offer unhelpful” You think?

This story is beyond amazing. If it had been written in the 60’s (or before), we could shake our head and say “thank goodness we all grew brains”. To have something like this happen in today’s world is remarkable. This can’t be the only wheelchair bound person to EVER come to this airport and fly on this airline.
