Regardless of current bumps in the road, I suggest ridesharing is here to stay. It would best for firms to prepare policies that serve this new community of drivers and make a profit while protecting policy holders and customers.
The 1920’s business model taxi industry is changing. It’s regulated monopoly is being defeated by a new competitor. A policy class that covers the ridesharing activity while in place is needed and the industry should respond.
Of course, ridesharing is not properly insured, be reminded it is not going away and $900 a month for a commercial plate as a product does not apply to an individual using their private car 20 hours a week to “make extra money.”
Innovate, your markets are demanding it, innovate.
Good news!!
